How We Started
We are a locally owned urgent care clinic in Salem, VA, striving to provide accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare to medically underserved areas of Southwest Virginia. We are passionate about redefining patient care standards by being the change and leading the way.
As a community urgent care in the Roanoke Valley, our team uses education and compassion to serve each patient with humanity. Our goal is to offer alternative solutions for urgent medical needs and reduce emergency room overuse.

As a graduate of Roanoke College, Kirstin is proud to serve the communities she calls home.
She co-founded Agenacare Urgent Care with a vision of creating a welcoming healthcare experience focused on exceptional patient care, convenience, and community involvement.
Whitney Pugh, Co-Owner FNP-BC
Born in Rural Retreat VA, Whitney received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Radford University. She has been a FNP-BC for 11 years and is also Autonomous in the State of Virginia. After traveling as a nurse in the Emergency Department, she met long time native of Franklin County, Joey aka “Posm” (funny story for later). They have been married for 16 years and have 2 amazing kids, Miles and Emersyn.
Whitney started Agenacare Housecalls in 2019 as a result of the broken healthcare. She wanted to try and fix the problem one county at a time. When COVID hit in March 2020 Agenacare took off. It was during this time that Whitney saw the additional healthcare needs in her home community.
Whitney and Kirstin have worked side by side for 2 years and are more like family instead of colleagues. She knew the county needed an additional Urgent Care to help with the demand and knew she wanted to partner for this adventure. There was no one better suited than Kirstin.
Amanda Belcher serves as the Practice Manager for Agenacare Urgent Care’s Rocky Mount location. As a key member of the leadership team, Amanda oversees day-to-day operations, staff coordination, and patient experience initiatives to ensure the clinic runs smoothly and efficiently.
Amanda is committed to supporting both patients and team members by fostering a culture of compassion, professionalism, and excellence. Her attention to detail and dedication to operational excellence help ensure that every patient receives the high-quality care Agenacare is known for.
Amanda is proud to serve the Rocky Mount community and contribute to Agenacare’s continued growth and commitment to accessible healthcare throughout the region.
Brandi Phoenix
Brandi Phoenix serves as the Practice Manager for Agenacare Urgent Care’s Salem location. With a strong background in healthcare operations and patient service, Brandi is dedicated to creating a positive experience for every patient who walks through the door. She oversees daily clinic operations, supports staff development, and works closely with providers to ensure efficient, high-quality care.
Brandi is passionate about building strong relationships with patients, team members, and the local community. Her leadership helps foster a welcoming environment where patients can receive timely, compassionate care close to home. She takes pride in helping the Salem clinic deliver on Agenacare’s mission of providing accessible, exceptional healthcare to the communities it serves.

CLIA Waived Testing
Rapid testing are crucial for urgent, helping to diagnose conditions, assessing illness severity, and guiding treatment. This includes CBC, urinalysis, blood culture, electrolyte panels, and more. And rapid often means same day results!
